American Marcellus Mini to host Iran ‘Oblivion’

Iranian short film ‘Oblivion’ is to compete at the Marcellus Mini Family Film Festival in the US.

Iranian short film ‘Oblivion’ has been set to compete at the Marcellus Mini Family Film Festival (M3F3) in the US.

Directed by Fatemeh Mohammadi, the 15-minute short will be in competition at this year edition of the American film event.

The film follows up on the attempts a woman makes to give meaning to her senile husband’s life and make it worth living. Their children are away and reasons to live are failing them.

A brief synopsis for ‘Oblivion’ reads, “Old people are passed into oblivion when their loved ones forget about them.”

The main roles of the flick have been brought to life by Maryam Boubani, ifilm star of ‘Warm Breath’ and ‘The Green Journey’ star Mohsen Qazi-Moradi.

M3F3 aims to showcase the films which are fun for all members of a family. It selects the films which make the viewer think about their local environment.

The fest is taking place on 16th November 2019.
